Internet Safety Guidelines for Teachers

  1. Know and follow your school's/system's Authentic Use Policy (AUP).
  2. Actively monitor student internet usage.
  3. Model and educate students on proper internet etiquette, citizenship, and ethical use.
  4. Provide guidance in instance of misuse and communicate consequences of misuse.
  5. Know and model proper use of copyrighted material.

Internet Safety Guidelines for Students (Classrooms)

  1. Actively promote netiquette, digital citizenship, and ethical behavior.
  2. Encourage open communication about internet safety and usage policy.
  3. Do not engage, encourage, or passively observe bullying cyber or otherwise.
  4. Protect all users' privacy and information.
  5. Adhere to copyright law and ask if you are confused.
  6. Use digital resources with respect to assignment, task, and fellow classmates.
